CE SAW in Oxfordshire for Ottery Explorers - 20-12-2011
A group of Ottery Explorer Scouts, joined by a small contingent from Tipton St John, spent the weekend in early December with over 150 Explorers from all over Oxfordshire at CESAW.
CESAW is an activity weekend in open to all 14 - 18 year old Explorers and this year Ottery decided to join this event for the first time.
The group travelled to PGL Liddington based outside Swindon via minibus on Friday night and were soon making new friends as food and activities commenced.
Explorers from Ottery St Mary undertook a packed programme of activities including zip wire, fencing, crate challenge, aeroball, film making, high swing and lots more.

Saturday night saw the "Ox Factor" when each
of the sub camp groups put together a selection of songs, sketches and fancy dress costumes, followed by a disco.
Accompanying the Explorers was Ian Chown one of the new Explorer adult helpers at Ottery. Ian (25) was formerly part of the hugely successful Ottery St Mary Venture Scout Unit when he was younger and decided he wanted to return to Scouting and give his time to help young people experience what he did in his time in Scouting.
John Green - Explorer Leader commented, "The weekend was action packed from almost the minute we arrived until late on Sunday. All the Explorers got on really well with new friends from Oxfordshire."
