Jane Bachelor the Devon Scout county administrator is headed for number ONE in the charts, with a little help from you.
Jane is part of the 'Military Wives' choir whose single 'Wherever You Are' is the surprise front-runners to take the coveted Christmas No. 1 spot. The ensemble - put together by choirmaster Gareth Malone for a BBC2 documentary are partners of serving military personnel, Jane's husband Andy is an RAF Search and Rescue winch and Radar operator. The 100 singers, from military bases in Devon, touched the nation's hearts on BBC2 show The Choir.Jane took her two scouting sons Thomas aged 10 and Josh 7 to watch her performance at the Royal Albert Hall said "I'm just blown away by the reception the recording as had and I just can't believe that it's the bookies favourite for the Christmas number one."
Rupert Adams, a spokesman for bookmaker William Hill, said: 'This is sensational news as it takes a serious weight of money to move the market this much.'
All proceeds from the single are going to the Royal British Legion and SSAFA and it is available for pre-order at £1.99 and will be released on 19 December 2011.
