Please read for important information on music licensing which is likley to have an impact on most if not all Groups in some way, but especially those which have their own headquarters.

The following message has been received from HQ:

I would like to take this opportunity to update you on the new rules that we (The Scout Association) now have to adhere to with regards to music licensing for the playing of recorded music, which we have previously been exempt from.

The information the legal team have provided on the matter is published on our
website.
As the advice and the tariff charged for the licence is highly dependent on the activity the music is being used for and the premise played in it is advised that Scout Groups, Districts and Counties directly contact PRS (Performing Rights Society).

The factsheet currently containing licensing information ? Scout Shows ? The Legal Aspects is currently being updated and reviewed to include this information and I shall update you once this has been signed off and published on the website.
