Training Advisers

A number of people in the county have already completed the learning necessary to become a Training Adviser in the new scheme. We need to identify many more Training Advisers, and will be repeating the Training Adviser workshop (Module 25 of the new scheme) several more times this year. Dates are shown in the training diary. These are open to anyone who wishes to find out more about the new scheme and to consider acting as a Training Adviser to other adults who are working towards gaining the wood badge. A Training Adviser is someone who can spend a little time on a regular basis helping a newcomer to Scouting as they progress through their training. If you want to find out more, please apply to attend a workshop.

Local Training Managers

The team of Local Training Managers will be the key to helping Training Advisers carry out their work with adults who are progressing through the training scheme. As appointments are made, announcements will be made in the county newsletter and locally in the Districts where the Local Training Managers will work.

One of the first tasks to be undertaken by the Local Training Managers will be to help those who are part way through our current training scheme to identify how to transfer into the new scheme when the time comes. The procedure for this is being developed, and we can promise that no-one will lose out in the transition procedure, and no training which has been done to date will have been wasted.

This page will be updated regularly as arrangements for the introduction of the new scheme proceed, and as key appointments are made.
