Options for over 18
Adults in Scouting are welcome to be involved in Denmark 2012. Here is a summary of the options available (although there may be other options .... that's up to you!)
Participants
One of our Danish Friendship Groups is a Senior Scout Unit. They would welcome the chance to combine with a Unit of 18+ from Devon to form a "Rover Unit". Such a Unit will be able to participate in the Jamboree. Options for an "After Event" are up to you, either with or without your Danish Friendship Group. This could include such activities as a joint camp, an expedition or Home Hospitality (HoHo).
Explorer Belt
The Explorer Belt is available for all aged 16 - 25 next summer. For more details of this exciting opportunity take a look at the requirements - click here.
Because the Explorer Belt takes 10 days to complete, you will not also be able to attend all of Jamboree Denmark 2012 but could visit the Jamboree or arrange other options in Denmark.
Jobbers
Jamboree Denmark 2012 will provide opportunities for 18+ to be involved in running the Jamboree. These roles are called "Jobbers" and are similar to IST at other Jamborees, but at Jamboree Denmark 2012 you will have the option of being involved in different activities and jobs throughout the Jamboree. Leaders & Helpers
Needless to say there will be opportunities to be a Leader within the Devon Contingent. Such opportunities will however be limited in number. Some of the specific roles required include:
- Administration
- Fundraising
- Entertainments
- Unit Identity e.g. badges, tee shirts, neckerchiefs etc
- Transport / Travel
- Catering
- Communication and Public Relations
- Photography
- Training
Some of these roles are involved purely in the preparation for Denmark 2012 so no need to necessarily actually go to Denmark.
