Scouts do 1 thing on Founder's Day
Today Scouting celebrates the birth of our founder, Robert Baden-Powell. And now is the perfect time to reflect on the scout promise, particularly when it comes to 'helping other people.'

Scouting supporters reconnect

NEXT YOUNG LEADERS TRAINING WEEKEND IS WEEKEND OF 9 - 11 March 2012. Have you booked?

We have booked the site at Nine Ashes near Bodmin, as this camp grows we have been forced to seek another venue.

The weekend offers to be another opportunity to take part in the scheme and meet old and make new freinds. As this camp is normally oversubscribed you need to be quick. click for the booking form. If you have problems email andyellis@devonscouts.or.uk and a form will be emailed.

The team looks forward to meeting you all again and seeing how far you have got with the Young Leader training.

The Young Leaders Program

When you are a member of the District Explorers you can take part in the Young Leaders Program,

Although you have to be a member of Explorers you do not have to attend Explorers, but are encouraged to take part in the Explorers Program.

When you join the Program you will need to attend a module A which introduces you to the program and ideally this should be attended within 3 months.

The remainder of the program will be completed whilst undergoing the Young Leaders Program. The training program has 13 training modules and 4 missions, upon completion of all the modules and missions you will be awarded the Young Leaders Belt Buckle.

The Scout Association produces a couple of Fact Sheets which explain the program.
