Achieving Growth is one of the Manager & Supporter Skills courses and provides managers and supporters with the skills and tools to manage and support their teams within Scouting.

What we cover on the course.


Course criteria

  • Produce an effective development plan to identify and promote growth in local Scouting.
  • Plan and use effective recruitment techniques.
  • Identify situations where change is needed and apply effective change management techniques to local Scouting situations.
  • Identify opportunities for flexible volunteering and support, and practice this in the recruitment and retention of adult Members.
  • Identify steps to implement their personal action plan.

Before the course.

Independent Learning

About the course.

This F2F course will be run at Exeter Scout District HQ, Little Silver. (See map at the bottom of the page).

This is a one-day course and sessions start at 10:00 and will consist of interactive whole group learning sessions, small group work & individual reflection. All sessions throughout the day will be supported by group facilitators and trainers.

A small amount of homework will need to be completed after the course.

Refreshments will be provided, please bring your own lunch!
